Solitude and Brighton are both located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, east of Salt Lake City. The canyon road is Utah State Route 190. Snow, ski traffic, traction restrictions, weather incidents, and temporary closures can affect travel time. This is different from Little Cottonwood Canyon, which serves Alta and Snowbird.

Solitude has the canyon’s largest concentration of resort lodging, condominiums, and vacation rentals. SLC AIRPORT TO BRIGHTON TRANSPORTATION

Brighton has less conventional lodging than Solitude, but private transportation is available to Brighton Resort, nearby cabins, vacation rentals, and eligible residences by advance reservation. Because property access can vary in winter, provide the full address and any host instructions when booking.

BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON WINTER CONDITIONS

Big Cottonwood Canyon can become congested during ski-area opening and closing periods, holidays, active storms, and powder mornings. Travel time from SLC Airport to Solitude or Brighton is often about 40 to 55 minutes in normal conditions, but winter traffic and road restrictions can add substantial time.

No transportation provider can bypass an official road closure or law-enforcement restriction. We monitor current conditions, plan realistic timing, and communicate if conditions materially affect the pickup plan.

WINTER-READY 4X4 TRANSPORTATION

Our primary SUV service uses a properly equipped 4x4 vehicle with Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires carrying the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake rating. That preparation supports traction on cold pavement, packed snow, and active storm days. Utah traction requirements, changing weather, and canyon restrictions still apply to every vehicle.

Passenger capacity depends on luggage volume, so accurate details help us confirm the right vehicle setup. Private SUVs are an excellent fit for couples and families.
